Message from the PresidentMay 17, 2006MO JCI Senate In a few days we will be traveling to the State Convention in Macon, MO. It is looking to be a busy couple of days. Friday night should have us partying with the Jaycees at the dance and in the hospitality rooms. Saturday morning Senate Meeting will be about Region Awards (find out what happened in Great Bend, KS), State Awards, upcoming projects and the Installation of the incoming officers. Lunch and awards, afternoon socials, banquet, dance and hospitality. Sounds like a great time! If you are planning to attend the lunch or banquet, it would be beneficial to the meeting planner to know this as soon as possible. They MUST know PRIOR to Friday for the lunch and would preferably like to know prior to Friday for the banquet if you are attending either of these events. The best person for the Senate to contact with this information would be Jerry Thompson. We the Senate should attend the banquet to help the Jaycees make this a successful event. The dress attire should be Formal attire of tux and gown, if possible, for the banquet. It is the perfect time for the Senate to look "classy" and to set the standard for the Jaycees to match. '06 Convention. Almost here. Let us know your plans. Will you be attending? Can you provide some manpower time? We are still looking for donations to help offset the costs of the convention. This does not have to be a monetary donation. It can come in the way of beverages, liquor, napkins, plastic ware, paper plates, cups, straws. See where I am headed with this? If you are picking items up already, PLEASE let Gerry Moore or Bill Smith know as you secure any items. This is to insure that you are not all going after the same items or that we end up with a lot more of one item and not enough of another. Thank you in advance for your assistance! If you are planning to attend the '06 Convention, have you registered or reserved your room yet? This is something that needs to be done now, so that You can get a room and the Convention Committee knows that you are attending. The Convention information is on our website at mojcisenate.org See you at the MO JCI Senate Year End Celebration in Macon, MO on the "Winds of Change",
May 4, 2006 MO JCI Senate, Looking for some RTF fun this weekend? Look to Booneville, MO. to help the Booneville Jaycees with manpower for a food booth. They are excited about the MO JCI Senate providing manpower with this first time project. If you are not attending the Region VI (XIV) Meeting in Kansas, the place to be is Booneville. The booth will be on Friday night and Saturday afternoon and evening, May 5th & 6th. Contact Patricia Miller. Let's all make this a successful MO JCI Senate RTF event! Just to let you know, in the first two months of the 4th quarter, the MO JCI Senate helped mentor, train, provide manpower and have FUN with over 900 hours for the RTF program. Thank you! The hidden question in the MO JCI Senate website is still out there waiting for you to find it. Visit the website at www.mojcisenate.org, which is constantly being updated with information for YOU, and see if YOU will be the one to answer the hidden question. The '06 National Convention is quickly approaching. It is only about a month and a half until opening ceremonies. We are looking and will continue to look for liquor, monetary donations and manpower commitments from the MO JCI Senate members. This is a HUGE undertaking that we are committed to and anything that you, as a member, can do to assist is greatly appreciated. Please contact Gerry Moore, or Dennis "Kramit" Kramer. Let's make this National Convention the best ever! We continue on through the '"Winds of Change". Dennis "Kramit" Kramer #61560 March 31, 2006 Hello MO JCI Senate Again and again, over and over, YOU continue to make a difference as you return the favor. This last quarter, there were 877 hours submitted (that we know was accomplished) as you mentored, trained, provided manpower, etc. to the MO Jaycees. Thank you! Speaking of Return The Favor, if your calender open April 7-9, 2006, it is springtime at Wonderland Camp and that means it is again time to prepare for the campers that will soon arrive at the camp this year. Please set aside a little time to help the camp have another successful year. If you have any RTF hours already compiled and intend to continue your help to the MO Jaycees, please submit all of your hours to Tim Vincent as soon as possible. Visit our website www.mojcisenate.org to get to the RTF link for the submission page. The hidden question, in the MO JCI Senate website, was answered in January by Larry Kenney. The hidden question was answered in February by Patricia Yates. The question was "MO is in what Region and name the other states in our Region." Keep searching, Senators, there are more to come. Manpower - '06 Convention - What do YOU want to do??? There will be a lot of opportunities to help out at the upcoming '06 US JCI Senate Convention in St. Charles in June '06. We need YOU!!! Get your name to the committee and let them know where you would like to help out, lets fill up the slots! You, the MO JCI Senate, are the best. We continue to show what we are about and why we are special as we travel through the "Winds of Change". Dennis "Kramit" Kramer #61560 January 18, 2006 Hello fellow MO JCI Senators. Hope your holidays brought you all the happiness you deserve! (and maybe some extra “presents”). To all the MO JCI Senators attending the Board of Directors Meeting in Daytona Beach, Florida, we’ll miss you at our meeting. Have a great time and enjoy the FUN in the Sun while we here in Missouri are turning up the excitement and FUN!!! The MO JCI Senate and Missouri Jaycees Meeting/Convention is this weekend at Tan-Tar-A in Osage Beach (Missouri’s own beach). There are incentives and RSVP’s needed: RSVP: Crazy Bowling – Saturday afternoon 2:30 – 3:00 p.m. - $5.00 per person (shoes included or bring your own equipment). Flier has already been emailed to you. Please RSVP to Karin Wilson #60621 by Thursday night. RSVP: Hospitality – please email Kristie Lea #62494 by Thursday night. With part of our delegation gone to Florida, we are trying to get an estimate of how many Senators and guests will be in the Senate Hospitality room, for a food count. INCENTIVE: Presidential – weekend hospitality – we are working toward getting liquor donations for the ’06 National Senate Convention in St. Charles, Missouri. If you bring a bottle (quart/half-gallon) of CALL liquor for the ’06 Convention, your cost for the hospitality room for the entire weekend is a total of $5.00. If you do not wish to make a liquor donation, the cost reverts back to the normal charge. INCENTIVE: ’06 National Senate Convention – if you have your paid registration turned in by Saturday afternoon, we will have a chance to call it in to the committee in Daytona Beach to go into the drawing for a free registration. Register now and let’s bring the FREE registration home to a Missouri Senator. If you are attending the Missouri Jaycees Winter Meeting and interested in only a partial registration (the Missouri Jaycees would love to see us do a FULL registration and show our support), it seems the best time to register to make the most impact with the Missouri Jaycees is at lunch with awards. For those Senators attending the banquet, we will be honoring the OYM/OYF winners and there will be Senatorships and Ambassadorships given out. As this is a very prestigious event, there will be Senators dressed in tuxes and gowns. The agenda call for “Black Tie Preferred”, so let’s set the bar and bring the glamour back to this event with good-looking tuxes and fabulous gowns. (We will indeed be the buzz). The Senate Meeting with elections is Saturday morning at 10:00 a.m. There are a lot of exciting things going on . . . door prizes, reverse raffle, shot glass sales. Be sure to bring a referral or two to Return The Favor with our “Grow By 1” program for the future of the Missouri Jaycees. If you have any old minutes and/or budgets, please bring those to the meeting to help us build our archives. Missouri JCI Senate, you are truly AWESOME. Continue to bring more Senators into our family to be a part of our FUN organization as we continue our travel thru the “Winds of Change”. Dennis "Kramit" Kramer #61560 December 23, 2005 Missouri Senators: I know everyone is in the holiday mood (oh yeaah!) yet I want to catch you up with the happenings of our fantastic Senate. December brought us a lot of Return The Favors for the local chapters with their help at community and chapter CHRISTMAS events. Thanks for your giving to help keep the CHRISTMAS spirit alive!!! I know there were different commitments for our Senators on Dec.10th but, I will say, you missed a great time at the CHRISTMAS Meeting and Party. The party continued on well into the nite and a FUN TIME was definitely in the agenda! Our RTF "Grow By 1" in-state program continues to be a success as we gathered another 4 referrals, at our state meeting, to give to the MO JAYCEES to help with their membership. Ernie Lea received a chance in the Nat'l Reverse Raffle by submitting 2 referrals. Congratulations! (The Nat'l Reverse Raffle has a Grand Prize of $2000. This is not the only prize. There will be over 100 other donated prizes to be won. Lots of chances.) The incentive for the "Grow By 1" is every person that brings in 2 referrals to a state meeting will get their name in a drawing for a reverse raffle ticket. We will give away up to 2 tickets at each meeting. Please bring a referral or two to our meetings to help the MO JAYCEES grow! Now that you know more about all the prizes available, here is another incentive. We would love to get more of our non-active Senators signed up and involved. Let them know the FUN the MO JCI Senate is having this year and how much FUN we will have at thus JCI Senate Nat'l Convention in St. Charles, MO in June, 2006. The incentive for signing up members has become sweeter from the Xmas Meeting. If you sign up 3 members with checks in hand by Winter Meeting at TanTarA, instead of receiving a registration to the Spring Meeting, you will receive a registration to the 2006 US JCI Senate Nat'l Convention in St. Charles, MO. (value $100.00) If you sign up 3 members by the Spring Meeting in May with checks in hand, your name will go in a drawing for reverse raffle tickets. Two tickets will be drawn. 2006 Convention incentive! If you are planning to attend the '06 US JCI Senate Nat'l Convention in St. Charles, MO. and you register before or at Winter Meeting by 12 noon, your name will go into a drawing for a free registration to the Nat'l Convention to be drawn at the USJCI BOD Meeting in Daytona Beach, FL. Jan. 21, 2006. Let's try to bring the registration home to one of our very own Senators! I would like to wish each and every one of you a Very Merry Christmas and a Joyous New Year!!! It is the time to spend with your family and friends and have the FUN YOU truly deserve!!! Talk to you NEXT YEAR!!! Dennis "Kramit" Kramer #61560 November 30, 2005 MOJCI Senators ~ What a group of great individuals you are! You continue to Return The Favor, be involved and just make a difference! Over 120 countries, 4200 JCI members and Senators. Beautiful city, statues, architecture and people. FUN. FUN. FUN. Great fellowship, old and new friends, new adventures, just sooo many things to tell you about but not enough time. I will say, if there is any way possible for you to attend a World Congress, please take the opportunity. If you never go, YOU will never know what you have missed out on, meeting Jaycees and Senators from all over the world and so many other opportunities. Are you planning to attend the XMAS Party? I hope to see you there. We have a lot going on. Check out the Calender of Events on our website for the details and check out all the other events on the calender that we have planned. At the meeting, there will be Senators declaring their intent to run for office. If you are interested in becoming an officer or would like to be considered for an appointment in the upcoming year, please advise the Future Direction members of your intentions. There is so much involvement from the newer members in this great organization and I would like to see this movement continue into the future. We will continue the "grow by 1" referral program for the MO Jaycees. At every meeting this year, we will gather referrals of prospective members for the MO Jaycees. Let's spice it up a little bit. Everyone that submits 2 or more prospects will get their names in a drawing for a free ticket for the Reverse Raffle with a change to win $2000!!! Also at the meetings this year we are trying to reconstruct our history. If you have any minutes/budgets from ANY YEAR, please bring them along to the meetings so we will have a copy. Your help on this project is greatly appreciated! Speaking of projects, I have two chairman spots available that I would love to see someone come forward to chair. It may or may not be something you want to do but maybe it is. Curious? Come find out what surprises I have in mind. One more thought. If you do not come out and join in, how are you going to know how much FUN we are having on our tour through the "Winds of Change"? Dennis "Kramit" Kramer #61560 September 8, 2005 MOJCI Senators ~ Hurricane Katrina has had a huge impact on so many lives. There have been emails sent out by the USJCI Senate, the MOJCI Senate and the MO Jaycees, letting everyone know how they can help the victims of this disaster start to put their lives back together. Let's ‘Return The Favor’ to those in need, because “Service to Humanity is the Best work of Life". MOJCI Senate --- YOU continue to be AWESOME!!! Strassenfest --- BIG ways and means project, Access Day --- YOUR manpower and support, 30th Anniversary Celebration --- Past Presidents, National Dignitaries, Senate Members and guests. If you know where any of these are located, please bring them with you to the state meeting or send them to Rudy Lefholz #50985 at 2714 Kelsey Court, St. Charles, MO 63301. JCI World President Kevin Cullinane #55772 proclaimed September 2005 a ‘grow by one’ month. He is asking every chapter in the world, to grow by one member this month. I believe that this is an achievable goal. Let's make this commitment to ‘Return The Favor’ to your local chapter or neighboring chapter, by taking one of the local Jaycee chapter members and showing them how to recruit that new member, that you are signing up. I believe in you, the MOJCI Senate, to be able to make this happen. Join the excitement as we continue on the "Winds of Change". Dennis "Kramit" Kramer #61560 August 3, 2005 What a success! The MOJCI Senate took over the BBQ Food Stand at the Jefferson City Jaycees Fair, which is the biggest ways and means project they have. Over 8 days in July there were 38 Senators from Regions 2, 3, 5, 6 & 9 putting in almost 400 hours for our Return The Favor program. Way to go team! What we need now is YOU! The Strassenfest, Aug. 5-7, 2005, in St. Louis, MO, is upon us. Gear up for some more FUN as we jump into our 2nd ways and means project of the year. If you are available to help out , all time slots are open all weekend but we are definitely looking to you to get out and give a hand on Sunday, Aug. 7. The time open on Sunday is 11am - 7pm. Contact Larry Kenney. Anyone interested in submitting an article in the "Winds Of Change" MOJCI Senate newsletter, articles are due Aug. 15, 2005 to Yvonne Kline -- Editor. If you have a birth in the family, a wedding, wedding anniversary, illness, a loved one passed on or anything you would like to pass on to our State Chaplain, his name is Greg Hudson. The "Winds of Change" are blowing through the great State of Missouri. Come on board as we continue to have FUN this year!!! Dennis "Kramit" Kramer #61560 July 11, 2005 We have a mission, which was approved, to man a food booth at the Jefferson City Jaycees Fair the week of July 25-30, 2005. We will be selling pork steak & chicken dinners, hamburgers, hotdogs and non-alcoholic beverages. The steaks & chicken will be prepared for us. We may have to cook some burgers. The potential for us to make money for the Senate is substantial. I know that I have received verbal commitments from the first email that was sent out about this event. Now I need to get the actual day and times that you will be available to assist. The days, times and manpower needed are as follows:
I am still working on hotel rooms and other Senators homes to stay at. I will have more info by the end of this weekend. The good thing about our booth is the high profile area that we are located, which is next to the main stage and the main beer garden. It will be entertaining to say the least. This is an opportunity to generate funds for our organization in Region 9. Region 5 has been our mainstay for some time now and it is time to add other events in other regions. The "Winds of Change" are happening so come out, join in, have FUN and let's make this first time event a hugh financial success! Dennis "Kramit" Kramer #61560 June 11, 2005 As we start another year in the great tradition of the MO JCI Senate, I look forward to serving you as your 32nd President. This year is all about having fun and YOU are the main ingredient! Make your way to the conventions & special events to see what we have planned. The pre-registration deadline is fast approaching for the 30th Anniversary Celebration in Columbia, MO. on the weekend of August 19 & 20th, 2005. Visit our website for detailed information at: www.mojcisenate.org. Speaking of our website, I invite everyone to make a visit the website. The webmistress, Debbie Velten, is doing a great job with the design changes and making the site more user friendly. There are more changes in the winds. If you know a Senator that has not been active or is not a member, invite them to come back to hang out with us and have some fun. Let's all work to get some of our former members back and to activate our newer members. I am looking for a fun-tastic year with you as we journey through the "Winds of Change".
